August 2006:
The CUMC / VA bowling league is inviting GPNA members to join the league. We bowl on
Wednesday evenings starting September 6 and ending on April 11, 2007. We are a non-sanctioned
league just to have fun. We have a handicap system, so everyone bowls equal. 3 people, men and/or
women make up a team. Even though only 3 people bowl, a team can have more people on the roster,
that way not everyone has to bowl all 31 weeks. We bowl at Kelly's Hilltop Lanes which is 5-10 minutes
from Gifford Park depending on traffic. We start bowling at 5:00 p.m. and are finished by 7:00 p.m.
Cost is $11.00 per bowler per week. During the year, we give away free drink tickets for things like so
many strikes in a row to having a score of 111 in the 7th frame. We have a potluck Christmas party
and a fun night at the end of the season. Kelly's Hilltop has a full snack bar and a lounge where they
have "Big Red Keno" so you can play KENO while you bowl. So think about it. If you would like to bowl,
fill out a sign up sheet and bring with you on Wednesday, September 6. If you wish to have your name
on the sub list, e-mail Rodney at
hayrodney@cs.com
Thank you
Rodney
