RECOMMENDATIONS OF
MIDTOWN TRANSPORTATION STUDY
TO BE SHARED WITH COMMUNITY
In 2005, HWS was hired by the City of Omaha to study the feasibility of several of
the proposed transportation improvements from the Destination Midtown Plan. This
month, HWS will share their recommendations with the public, and receive feedback
at two community forums.

The improvements studied were:

(1) Conversion of Dodge Street from I-480 to 69th Street from five
lanes to six lanes with a raised median.

(2) Alternatives to improve traffic flow at the intersection of Dodge
Street and Saddle Creek Road

(3) Reconfigure and relocate the Turner Boulevard and Dodge
Street “S” curve

(4)  Convert Farnam & Harnam Streets to two way traffic between
42nd Street and 10th Street.
